Change has been a big topic floating around the past few weeks, especially with it being a new year. There certainly has been a shift (or change) in the Universal energy. Can you feel it? The energy feels much lighter. People are full of much more promise, hope and possibility. Hallelujah, I say! We needed some change! The energy in 2009 was so heavy, like quicksand sucking many of us under. Well, 2010 is here and it’s handing you a stick to help pull you out of the quicksand. It’s up to you if you grab the sick or not.
Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? I did, but more about that later. How are you doing with your resolutions? Most people give up or quit on theirs within 10 days. Do you know why? Because often they have not set themselves up for success. What do I mean by that? Well, sometimes we have blocks on the emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and very often unconscious levels that keep us from achieving the change or success that we want. How do you know if you have any blocks on any levels? Well, do you have what you want right now? Are you living the life you desire? Are you creating lasting change and success in your life?
It takes courage, strength, and perseverance to make lasting change, and we also have to clear anything that’s in our way. Do you have the courage to clear the path and make the changes you need, or want, to make? I bet you do! Change can feel a little daunting, but if we breathe through it, and take it one baby step at a time, working through the emotional and mental material that surfaces, before we know it we will be on the other side of the hill and enjoying the fruit of our new creation or situation.
If you feel stuck, reach out for help. As a coach, that’s my job. It’s why I’m here.
So, what are my New Year’s resolutions? The first one is to keep my commitments (especially to myself), even if it means renegotiating them from time to time. Believe me, this has brought up plenty of material for me to work on…and it’s been GREAT! I love what’s resulting from doing this work. The second and third resolutions have just been added in the past few days: To finish any incomplete cycles of action (any incomplete tasks or unresolved business, words spoken, letters written, etc.), and my favorite of all…to make this the BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!
I’d love to hear yours.
Peace, love and blessings,
Alanna M. Arthur, M.A.
